I knew growing up that I wanted to do some sort of career with people and I was really drawn to the healthcare profession. And it wasn't actually until I got to college that I started to explore different professions, different realms of healthcare. I had some really great mentors, really great dentists that kind of guided me along the way, really made a big influence on me. And that's how I settled on dentistry. I think the most rewarding part of dentistry is when you can turn that fearful patient into somebody who really looks forward to their dental appointments. As crazy as it sounds we have lots of patients who start off a little timid, a little fearful of coming into a new place, meeting new people. And then by their second or third appointment they burst through the door and they're excited to have done what they're about to have done. So we really look forward to those appointments too.
I went to college at Texas A&M University in College Station. I'm an Aggie, proud Aggie. And then after that, I went to dental school at Baylor college of dentistry in Dallas. After I finished the four years in dental school, I did a one year AEGD program, which is just more continuing education. And I went to the VA hospital in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Then I moved back here to Texas and started working at this practice in Arlington. And ever since then I've been focusing on getting more continuing education hours and I'm currently working to get a lot more hours, learn a lot more in dentistry.
